13-15 October: World Maths Day Event

World Maths Day is an international online competition supported by UNICEF and organised by 3P Learning. The first World Maths Day was held on 14 March 2007. In 2010, World Maths Day received a great response and a Guinness World Record for the Largest Online Maths Competition. It is now part of World Education Games, thereby linking schools from various parts of the world. The basic aim of World Maths Day is to raise the standards of numeracy.

This year the competition will be held from 13 to 15 October. It is a multi-player game contest which involves participants playing 60-second games which include mental Math problems. The idea of combining games with Math problems is innovative enough to attract participants. Any student between the ages of 4 and 18 can participate in the contest. The winners are awarded gold medals.
