You are posted as head of district which is severely affected by water crisis.
The situation has worsened to the extent that it has disrupted the law and order.
Presently cricket tournament is going on in the country. Matches are held all
over the country. You get a call from the state cricket association that a cricket
match is to be held in your district. A good sum of money is offered for the
match. However when you discuss the matter with your colleagues they
suggest you to decline the offer as the district is facing severe water scarcity
and this would further add to the problem as a large volume of water will be
needed for irrigating the pitch. If you accept the offer, you would get a good sum
of money which would compensate for the water used for irrigating the pitch.

¤ What are options before you? Explain the merits and demerits of each option.
¤ Also suggest what course of action will you take?

1. No, you shoud not accept the offer
2. Right, there are two options before you- either you accept the offer or reject the offer. It depends on the humanitarian attitude of the person. The merit of accepting is the offer is that it will benefit you and the whole district. It will benefit you because yo will get a good amount from the cricket association and benefit the district becuase it will be a entertaining mode to the villagers and nearby locales to witness the big event. The demerit of accepting is the offer is that it will only lead to problems of the villagers as there will be no water to utilise.
3. Th actions may be taken like:
a. You may request the cricket association to shift the match to other venues where the water scarcity is not there.
b. If at all the cricket association denies the shifting of the venue, then it will be your duty to report this to state water department since you are the head of the district to take action.
