You are given 48 cells each of 1.48 volt and resistance 0.3 ohm. How would you arrange them to produce greatest current in a circuit of 5 ohm resistance?

If you connect all the cell in series
The the effective voltage of the cell = 1.48×48 =V
The effective resistance of the circuit  = 48×0.3 = R
So current I =  V/R =(1.48×48)/(48×0.3) = 4.9 = 5 A
