Make in India was a flagship programme launched by the current Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Its main aim was to boost domestic manufacturing sector. This programme focusses on 25 sectors of the economy like automobile, electronics etc. It is expected that this programme would:
- Generate employment opportunities
- Boost foreign direct investments
- Minimise the import of various commodities
- Create a new line of entrepreneurs in the country
The symbol of “Make in India’ programme is a giant lion having many wheels. This represents a mix of strength and technology.
