Expert Answer:

the switch circuit is made in such a way that the transistor does not operate in active mode. it should operated between cut off and saturation region.
it can not be in active mode.either thevoltage in  input circuit be very high(tr switches on) or very low(tr switches off). no qs of being in active mode.
