why velocity ratio is not affected by friction?

Expert Answer
If there is friction between the parts of simple machine then it will affect the efficiency of machines and thus the mechanical advantage of machine will be reduced.
But velocity will not be affected. Velocity ratio is the ratio of effort distance to load distance.
