why the functions of only sin and cos are used in the equations of s.h.m ?and how to make clear that equation is of s.h.m or not?

Actually the simplest type of the oscillation is known as SHM.
In SHM acceleratin is directly proportional to the negative of displacement. So differentiate the displacement expression twice and get the acceleration expression and if it satisfy the above condition it shows SHM.
And you can say in the opposite way that the sin and cos functions are mathematical functions that are made to express the SHM( oscillatory ) type of motions.
