Expert Answer
During sun set or sun rise, the sun is at the maximum distance from th earth.
Light from teh sun gets to scatter the mos while it travles towards the earth surface. Violet light being of lower wavelength gets to scatter most & hence gets lost..red colour having long wavelength gets scatters least & hence is able to reach the earth.
When we look at the sun during sun set or sun rise we get to see reddish colour.
