Why stomata is in plants

Human beings have lungs for the process of breathing. They take in and give out air through lungs. Plants do not have lungs for breathing. Exchange of gases in plants occuts through tiny openings on the surface of leaves called stomata. Also, the removal ofexcess of water through transpiration occurs through stomata. Hence, stomata are found in plants.
