CBSE Class 12-science Answered
Why solubility of gas in liquid decreases on increasing temperature?

Expert Answer
Solubility of gas in liquid decreases with increase in temperature;
As the temperature increases, kinetic energy of molecules of gas increases.
The increase in kinetic energy of molecules of gas results in the more motion of molecules.
Due to this intermolecular bond between liquid molecules and gas molecules breaks,
that results in the decrease in the solubility.
