Expert Answer
Rainbow is formed due to refraction of light from the tiny water droplets.
So, when the sunlight falls on the drops, the light gets refracted and totally internally reflected to give the spectrum after emerging out of the drop.
Hence, it is always formed at the opposite side of the Sun.
