A metal can replace metals listed below it in the activity series, but not above. Now all the above metlals are above hydrogen and thus able to replace hydrogen from water.Now Na,Mg,Ca being up above in reactivity series displace hydrogen from acids much vigorously in comparision to Al,Zn,Fe which occur much below them in reactivity series.
