Microwave oven produce microwaves which cook the food. These waves can penetrate plastics, glass, paper, food, etc. but not by metals.
Metals reflect the microwaves generated in an oven and these microwaves bounce randomly inside the oven damaging the interior of the oven.
Hence, it is not advisable to keep metallic object in an oven.
