why it is not advice to not keep a metallic object like iron in the microvawe oven and what is the theory behind it?

Microwave oven produce microwaves which cook the food. These waves can penetrate plastics, glass, paper, food, etc. but not by metals.
Metals reflect the microwaves generated in an oven and these microwaves bounce randomly inside the oven damaging the interior of the oven.
Hence, it is not advisable to keep metallic object in an oven.
