Why it is easier to pull a lawn roller than to push it??

When we push a lawn mower or infact any object making an angle with the vertical then a component of our push act in the vertical direction and adds up it the vertical direction thus giving an extra normal force and thus also increasing the frictional force which is a fraction of normal force.
