Rain provides us with water, which is an important natural resource since it occurs naturally in the environment and is useful to humans and other living organisms. All functions of living organisms require water.
Water is highly important to living organisms since all cellular processes and biochemical reactions occur in water medium. Tansport of materials between different parts of body is carried out in dissolved form. Hence organisms carry out osmoregulation i.e. regulation of water levels within their bodies, to stay alive.
