Plastids have double membrane consisting of outer and inner membrane called phospholipid layes.
The space between this double membrane is filled with aqueous matrix known as stroma.
This stroma contains various enzymes and proteins which carry out essential cellular processes.
They are necessary for essential life processes, like photosynthesis and food storage.
thus, plastids are double membranous structure.
