why is double circulation necessary?
Asked by mehaksaini | 30th Jun, 2009, 01:41: PM
Double circulation is important to keep the oxygenated and deoxygenated blood separate from each other in the body and prevent their mixing. Such separation allows a highly efficient supply of oxygen to the body. This circulation is important for animals like birds and mammals which have high energy needs. Double circulation ensures that only oxygenated blood gets pumped to the whole body from the heart.
