Distilled water is any water that has been purified using distillation so it is safe to drink but not for long term. The disadvantages of drinking this water is that most of the natural minerals in the water are gone. If these minerals are desirable (e.g., calcium, magnesium, iron), the distilled water might be considered inferior to mineral water or spring water. Some disdvantages of drinking distilled water are mentioned below:

1.Drinking distilled water deprive your body of its natural source for many minerals essential to good health. This results in mineral loss in the body which increases your risk for osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, hypothyroidism, hypertension, coronary artery disease and premature aging.

2.As distilled water does not contain any fluoride, there will be an increased number of cavities in young children.

3.Long term use of distilled water can cause electrolyte imbalances in your body.
