why is complete combustion of fuels necessity?

answered-by-expert Expert Answer

Complete combustion uses up all the fuel in a reaction and produces a limited number of products in the reaction. Incomplete combustion occurs when there is not enough of an oxidant to burn up all the fuel in an efficient manner. Hence the complete efficiency of the fuel is not obtained and leads to wating of the fuel. Also, incomplete combustion can produce carbon monoxide, a poisonous gas.
