why is chromatin absent in ova?

Asked by Mirsalik25 | 05 Feb, 2019, 05:50: PM
Expert Answer

It is not true that chromatin is absent in ova. Inside the nucleus of a non-dividing cell, the DNA is loosely scattered. This arrangement of DNA is called chromatin. Chromatin is found in all non-dividing cells. As a cell begins cell division, the chromatin begins to condense or package itself more neatly. It combines with special proteins called histones and gets compactly arranged to form chromosomes.
