Why don't we use sea water for our daily use?

Dear student,
The sea water is taken into use after purifying it with processes like reverse osmosis and multistage flash distillation. But as the processes bear a high cost the water is primarily used for drinking purposes in the areas having a lack of fresh water or areas adjoining the seas and not for daily use.
