Why does the temperature decreases when the altitude increases ?

Since the effect of radiations released by the Earth's surface decreases with increase in altitude. Therefore temperature decreases when the altitude increases.

Note this change in temperature happens only in the region close to Earth's surface.

Plssss answer..... Assertion: Magnetic field lines never intersect each other. Reason: If they intersect, then at the point of intersection, the compass needle would point towards two directions, which is not possible.
