why does the rays only converge in concave mirror but not in convex mirror?

Expert Answer:
Concave mirror converges the rays on reflection because in case of concave mirror, the rays after reflection passes through the focus (or meet at focus) of the concave mirror.
Convex mirror diverges the rays on reflection because the reflected rays from the convex mirror do not meet at any point but they appear to come from the focus on the principle axis, behind the mirror.
