CBSE Class 10 Answered

Why do we use fuses in household circuits?

We use fuses to protect the electrical circuit from overloading. A fuse of proper rating is connected in the live wire. If the current exceeds the safe limit, the fuse melts and breaks, the circuit then becomes open and prevents the flow of current into the household circuit thus preventing the electrical appliances in the circuit from being damaged.
