Why do we take the X-axis along the direction of motion........?

Expert Answer:
Any orthogonal axes will help. And we can as well put y axes along the direction of motion, it's only the complications that we have sort out and manage. And we want to keep things simple.
For the example, x axes should be along the wedge.
