ICSE Class 8 Answered

Why do some solids have a high melting point while some solids melt at a low temperature?

Asked by jessicadas2021 | 09 Jun, 2018, 07:21: PM
Expert Answer
The melting point depends on the bond compounds have.
If the bond is the ionic bond which formes by transfer of electrons, then M. P. will be higher
whereas in case of covalent bonding, compounds have lower M.P. covalent bond is formed by sharing of electrons.
