answered-by-expert Expert Answer

When the bus is moving the passengers are in the state of motion and they have inertia of motion. When the bus stops suddenly, the lower part of the body of passengers, which is in contact of the bus, come to rest, but upper part of their body tends to be in the state of motion and thus the passengers lean forward.
