why do covalent bonds exist in liquid or gaseous state ????????

Covalent bond formation occur due to the sharing of electrons ,these are weaker bonds than ionic bond ,All the liquid and gaseous compounds are formed by the elments having tendency to form covalent bonds that is why covalent bonds exist in liquid or gaseous state.
