WHY DO CARBOHYDRATES REDUCE TOLLENS REAGENT ANDFEHLING SOLUTION?

Some carbohydrates like aldoses which contain aldehydic group and fructose reduce tollen's reagent and fehling's reagent. Such carbohydrates which reduce Fehling's and Tollen's reagent are called reducing sugars.
