Albert wanted to marry Mileva Maric, his fellow student at the University of Zurich, right after finishing his studies. However his mother was strictly against this. She thought that the three years’ age difference between the two was too much. Mileva was too old for Albert. She was also bothered that the two shared an almost equal level of intelligence. Owing to these objections Albert Einstein put off his wedding for a few years.
