why can't the newton laws be applied to the atomic particles

Newtonian mechanics ceases to be valid for microscopic particles like electrons, neutrons etc. because certain characteristics shown by these particles can not be verified by Newtonian mechanics.
To study the motion of these microscopic particles quantun mechanic was formulated.
