why breathing is a diffusive process?

Expert Answer:

From the alveoli, the oxygen from the air we breathe enters our blood in nearby blood vessels. This process is called oxygen diffusion. Once our blood is oxygenated, it carries oxygen throughout our body. Another form of diffusion occurs when blood containing carbon dioxide travels back to our lungs.
