Blood is a connective tissue fluid circulating in the body.
- It contains red blood cells, which carry oxygen throughout the body.
- It contains white blood cells, which fight infections.
- Platelets present in the blood help to stop bleeding in case of a cut.
- Plasma, a yellowish liquid carries nutrients, hormones, and proteins throughout the body.
Because of these vital roles to be performed in the body, the body contains blood.
