Copper is a good conductor of electricity that allows the electricity to flow through it easily. So it is used to make connecting wires.
Copper as a connecting wire has a very low electrical resistance.
Being a good electrical conductor, it provides a good contact surface, is ductile and it is not too expensive.
Copper wires are easy to manufacture.
