Carbonyl compounds(C=O) are chemically organic functional group composed of carbon atom doublly bonded to oxygen atom like C=O .
Aldehyde (-CHO) and ketones (R-CO-R') are the simplest carbonyl compounds usually attached to another carbon compounds.
Both ketone and aldehyde are contain C=O in their functional group thats why they are also called as carbonyl compounds.
