WHY ALCOHOLS CAN'T BE USED AS SOLVENTS FOR GRIGNARD REAGENT????

ROH + R'MgX ----> R'H + Mg(OR)X
Due to formation of corresponding alkane upon reaction with alcohol, alcohols cannot be used as solvent for Grignard's reagent.
