Why alcohol is not used instead of mercury in a clinical thermometer?Please explain.

Alcohol is not used in clinical thermometer:
i) It cannot measure the high temperatures because of its low boiling point.
ii) It makes the wall wet.
iii) It is colourless and thus dye must be added to it so as to make it visible.
Due to these reasons alcohol cannot be used in clinical thermometer and mercury is suitable to be used in clinical thermometer for measuring the body temperatures.
