why a water droplet always forms a spherical shape?

Expert Answer:

Because of surface tension.

Imagine it like a stretched elastic membrane, which tries to minimize the area. Similarly water surface behaves in the same way, and since sphere has the minimum area for a given volume, the water droplets are spherical.
