While determining the value of "g" at a point B below the earth's surface, the force on a body at point B due to the outer spherical layer of the earth of thickness "x" is assumed to be zero.Justify it mathematically.

The force of gravity is the force with which the object is attracted towards the centre of the Earth.
When the object is at some depth, it will be attracted towards the centre of the earth obviously by the part of the earth over which it is situated, not the outer part.
