From Newton’s 2nd law of motion; F = ma

In the First case:
m1 = 5 g = 5 x 10-3 kg
a1 = 1 m/s2
F1 = m1a1
     = 5 x 10-3 kg  x 1 m/s2
     = 5 x 10-3 N

In the second case:
m2 = 10 g = 10  x 10-3 kg
a2 = 0.5 m/s2
F2 = m2a2
     = 10 x 10-3 kg x 0.5 m/s2
     = 578 x 10-3 N
Since, F1 = F2
Both will require the same force.
