[Co(SO₄)(NH₃)₅]Br→[Co(SO₄)(NH₃)₅]⁺ + Br^-

The complex [Co(SO₄)(NH₃)₅]Br does not furnish free SO₄^-2 ion in solution hence does not give the test of SO₄^-2 ion in aqueous solution.
