Which has high boiling point and why?
butan-2-ol or butan-1-ol

Butan-1-ol (1170C) has high boiling than butan-2-ol (1080C).
This is because of the branching in the butan-2-ol molecule which makes the van der Waals attraction less effective than butan-1-ol.
