Expert Answer
Epithelial tissue is the covering or protective tissue of the body. There are different types of epithelial tissue such as squamous, ciliated, columnar, glandular and cuboidal. The locations of these are different according to the functions they perform.
For example - Squamous epithelium is present in the lining of mouth, oesophagus, alveoli and also of blood vessels. It is also present in skin. It protects the underlying parts of the body and also forms a selectively permeable surface through which filtration can occur. Also columnar epithelial performs the function of absorption and secretion. It forms lining of stomach, intestine and gall bladder.
