When we are asked to find retardation and we put the formula of acceleration if the value is in (-)form then retardation will be in (-) form or (+) form??

Expert Answer
retrdation is negative acceleration.
In all equations of motion, there is positive sign to indicate acceleration, i.e. change of speed is positive with respect to time.
But if you are sure, motion is retarded motion, i.e. speed keep on decreasing with respect to time, use negative sign in the formula/equation.
