when the 2 circles intersect,then the common chord is not passing through the centre of the second circle but sometime it passes through the centre of the small circle. how to know that when the common chord will pass through the centre of the circle or not.

When two circles have a common chord, the straight line that bisects it at right angles will pass through the centres of both the circles.
