WHEN IS AN OBJECT SAID TO BE IN GRAVITATIONAL EQUILIBRIUM?

Expert Answer:

When in the celestial body, such as a star, gravitational forces pulling inward on a particle are balanced by some outward pressure, such as radiation pressure so that no vertical motion results. Then the object (celestial body) is said to be in gravitational equilibrium.
