  • Electricity has the tendency to flow along the path of least resistance.
  • Birds are not good conductors of electricity.
  • However some amount of electricity is carried by their body-parts.
  • When a bird sits on a high voltage line, the induced current flows through the wings of bird.
  • The bird's physiology enables the induced current to flow in opposite direction,as the wings evolve from the central visceral body part of the bird in oppsoite directions (left and right wing)
         
  • The opposite direction of the induced current gives them a sense of repulsion in their wings, which propells them for flight.
