what would happen if plasma ruptures or breaks down ?

Expert Answer:

Plasma membrane is selectively permeable and maintains homeostasis within the cell. Its rupture or break down leads to a loss of the constant internal chemical composition of the cell and leaking out of the cell contents. Hence the cell will be unable to carry out its basic functions and will die.
