If a charged particle of mass m, charge q is moving with velocity and enters a region where a magnetic field and electric field are present simultaneously, and then the force acting on the charged particle is
= Force due to magnetic field + Force die to electric field
=
This force is called Lorentz force acting on a charged particle.
