ICSE Class 8 Answered
The British government introduced several laws in its colonies to exploit resources in colonies and to finance its trade with other countries. The impact of British introduction of various laws in the colonies was huge. For example, when the British Parliament introduced the Stamp Act in the American colonies, people in America opposed the right to the British parliament to tax them. The Townshend Act further agitated the people in the colonies which required the Americans to pay taxes on imported goods like tea. This agitated the Americans as they felt that the British government has no right to tax them. The impact of these laws were that the colonies in America united themselves to throw off the British rule and became independent.
